Great Indoor Folk Festival

Great Indoor Folk Festival

Dear Friends,

It’s here!  The annual “Great Indoor Folk Festival” in the Mercado corridor of Building 50 and Left Foot Charley’s this Sunday!  If you haven’t seen the line-up, it’s a great one with many new “young” performers.  Read more about it and see the schedule in the on-line Northern Express  here.  I’ll be on from 2:40-3:10 PM on the South Duo Plus stage outside the MANNA deli.

I’m excited that I’ll have some great musicians joining me on my set this year who will also be performing their own acts at the Festival.   One of those acts is the  “The Accidentals.”  They are a very talented, creative, songwriting duo that are creating quite a buzz on the folk scene. They both play about 7 instruments each including violin, cello, guitar, ukelele, and bass and write amazing songs.  Here is an interview with them including a live performance with UpNorth Live.  As one of the younger, newer acts, they will be performing on the New Folk Stage from 1:40-2:05.  We’ve played together before and I can’t wait to do it again!

Also joining me will be Doc Probes playing bass.  Doc will also be on the Solo Performance Stage from 2:00-2:25. After playing with me, he’ll be off to join Jim Hawley on the North Duo Stage from 3:25-3:55. (you can tell he’s a great musician to play with!!).  Here’s a video of Jim and Doc playing together on the deck at North Peak. I also just learned that Chris Burgess, percussionist with Medicinal Groove will also be joining us!

Plan on spending the whole afternoon at the Festival – this is a rare opportunity to see and hear some great music – and all for free! CD’s will be on sale so we encourage you to support local music.
